Safety and quality education and training

WA Health is committed to ensuring that all healthcare workers within our health system have the appropriate safety and quality expertise to provide a service to their clients that is consistently safe and of high quality across WA Health services.

The Quality Improvement Directorate (QID), the Safety and Quality Executive Advisory Committee (SQuEAC) and the Area Health Networks are currently working together to determine the education and training priorities for safety and quality (S&Q) and to develop strategies to address these priorities.

This initial work has produced two resources for WA Health services:
» WA Health safety and quality education and training database (access to Department of Health intranet is required)
» Draft WA Health safety and quality learning areas (access to Department of Health intranet is required)

As at mid-2011, QID is currently working with the SQuEAC to develop a comprehensive S&Q education and training plan for WA Health.
